Description

Stitch-and-glue sailing canoe from our friends at the Madeira Mar Boat Building School in Florianopolis, Brazil.

The 13-foot Right Canoe blends classic looks with ease of construction in an affordable package. The balanced lug rig is easy to rig and offers great sailing qualities. It sais very well upwind, has great performance downwind, tacks well and offers manageable gybes and gentle manners. The Norwegian tiller allows the sailor to sit facing forward in either thwart. The Right Canoe crews 3. A great boat for expeditions and daysailing!

Novice builders will find it very easy to build. The plans include an illustrated construction manual covering all the steps, from drawing on the hull panels to rigging the boat. Online support is available even on weekends (email or instant message app). The entire hull is built with 4 sheets of 1/4" plywood.

The sail can be cut from polytarp or ordered from a sailmaker. We include instructions on cutting polytarp sails. Sails can be ordered from Duckworks. The boat requires minimal hardware, all of which can be found in the Duckworks online store.
