Here is a new design that is a bit unusual for me - a jet ski look alike, that is just a simple little trolling motor powered "personal watercraft", called the Water Scooter . This was suggested by my friend, Craig Titmus of Tasmania, Australia. After a couple of months of trying to get the plans completed, without cutting a single piece of plywood, I finally finished them yesterday. Unusual in another way, because I almost always build first, draw later. This is an exception. I have put in many hours trying to insure all parts are well documented, and that a finished boat will perform safely.

The length of 8 feet and width of 3 feet was chosen for stability, yet small enough, when nested, to fit in most vehicles. No trailer required. Constructed entirely of 5 MM plywood, the end result should be a hull that weighs just over 50 pounds. Designed for a single occupant, it will move at a speed of about 4 mph with a trolling motor. There is the option of a 2 HP gas outboard, with mount modifications, and that may cause the hull to plane, so increased speeds are an option.
