V448 is a rowing-sailing 4.50m modern design with room aboard, many sealed storage spaces for gear, an un-stayed, furling mast with one simple sail.

Initially very stable and robust, V448 is made for hiking.

Construction is epoxy/composite suitable for the home builder.

A boom tent over the cockpit will accomodate 2 sleeping aboard.

V448 was suggested and comissioned by Aurelio Proserpio, an experienced Italian who is passionate about developing small sailboats, on Lake Como.

Aurelio: "this is my "idea" of a sailing and rowing boat to Participate in the Velaraid ..... a singlerowing position, a foredeck for sunbathing, roller furling for easy sailing and an outboard motor"

V448 Characteristics

The boat can handle two sailors of course, but another feature is that the centerboard can be weighted if desired, to increase stability, and allow for more canvas (8,8m2) for better performance. The board would then lift up to the rear on a winch.

Expect good sailing performance as well as rowing with less wetted area than it looks like. V448 is self-draining for more security.

There is a huge amount of storage.

The full set of plans, as always contains, an all inclusive package, the same as the other Henseval designs:

  • very detailed plans for home builder.
  • Cutting files of all the plywood parts of the boats (dxf format)
  • Included, for those who don't use cutting files: several big plans at scale 1 to draw easily all parts (those difficult to draw) on plywood.

And all elements are already drawn separatly with their own dimensions too.
