A client in the Far East wanted a trailable dayboat with plenty of space for crew and with shoal water capability. He very much liked the sturdy and stable looks of the Lynx 16 pocket cruiser but, sailing in hot climes, did not want the cabin - sailing would be done under a Bimini Top. And so, I modified the standard Lynx 16 plans, using the original Lynx 16 hull and altering both the General Arrangement and sail plan to suit.

The twin pivoted steel bilgeboards have been retained working in the seat fronts and giving a minimum draft of just 1'2". The outboard is also retained and with extended cockpit seating, this modified design has plenty of storage space. The boom and mainsail have been raised to clear the Bimini Top - but if the Top is not fitted the mainsail can be fitted lower.

Construction, like the original Lynx 16 is simple stitch and tape although the hull could be easily adapted for ply on frame construction.
