This is one of those commissions that every designer loves to work on occasionally - a step back in to pure nostalgia. But having said that, our researches before designing this vessel showed just how expert early designers were in getting just the right compromise in design without the aid of computers.
The drawings detail all the mould shapes for strip planked construction without the need for lofting and show her fitted out with a Stewart Turner âSwanâ steam plant. She could also be fitted with an electric propulsion unit. LOA 13â; Beam 5â; Draft 1â4ââ. There is also an additional sheet available showing the mould shapes for a 15â version of the Felix and also for a transom hung rudder version.
