Description
Michelle is a sister ship to Etna. The main difference is in her bow shape which is more raked - the aft sections and transom are the same as Etna. She has an open internal layout similar to Etna's. With her modern reverse counter stern and pronounced tumblehome home in the aft sections changing into a flaired bow sections, she has a hull that will turn heads.
The construction is for 15mm (5/8") strip Cedar planking with a diagonal veneer of 3mm (1/8") Kaya but she could be built with a single thickness of 18mm (3/4") Cedar sheathed in glass/epoxy. The bilge stringers and engine/boiler beds are fitted before planking commences so that there is no awkward fitting later.
