The 18' Cross Channel Rowing Skiff worked well with the capability to take 6 or more adults into rough water. The client then wanted a very similar skiff with the same profile but with less beam making her lighter but with the same sea-keeping qualities. So the beam has been reduced to 1.49m (4'11").

This version is now designed for a crew of 4 or 5 with the 3 rowers.

Construction is the same as the Mik 1 (HERE) and was to be kept simple so the plans give the plank shapes and details for stitch & tape construction - this can be purely based on epoxy fillets plus glass tape with no jig or, the planks can be laid over a building jig with/without a solid stem/stern post and hog. The same building jig can be used by those wanting to build using the clinker-ply method.

The thwarts are mounted on fore and aft stretchers so they can be repositioned. Details are given for the rudder and oars.
