Description
The Whooping Swan is a development of the 16' Grey Swan pocket cruiser - a client asked me to alter the hull so that it would take an outboard with a wheelhouse - in doing this we have added buoyancy to the aft end and made the transom more vertical to take an outboard. Headroom in the wheelhouse is around 5â11! (1.80m) and a 5 hp outboard would move her along nicely.
At first, the plans were in addition to the standard Grey Swan plans which meant that you needed the original Grey Swan plans to get all the details to construct the boat. However, I have now added further plans so that it is now a design in it's own right.
Construction is for stitch and tape although details are also given for simple chine stringers so the hull can be built using the ply over frame method.
Below is a card model of the motor version by Brent.
